Safe passage according to God's promises came Friday, February 3, 2006, to Mrs. Sonja Deloris Broadwater Childs at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, Georgia.

Born October 5, 1939, in Silverstreet, South Carolina in Newberry County, she was the youngest of seven children of the late Samson James Broadwater, Sr. and the late Addie Williams Broadwater. Mrs. Childs joined Belmont Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Newberry County Schools where she was a graduate of Gallman High School and attended Claflin College. Hestella Broadwater Primus, daughter of Samson J and Addie Williams Broadwater. Preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Nathaniel H Primus and her daughter, Marsha P Jackson of Durham, NC.  Surviving relatives: Daughter Stella A Primus of Hartsville, SC; Two sons: Nathaniel D Primus (Yvette) of Jacksonville, FL and Reginald D Primus of Kannapolis, NC. Two grandsons: Justin P Reed of Greenville, TN and Darius N Primus of Jacksonville, FL.
